Corey Lamar, the father of Rich Homie Quan, has announced the funeral arrangements for the Atlanta star.
During a call with Yung Joc’s Streetz Morning Takeover, Lamar, who was also Quan’s manager, shared that many people have been inquiring whether the homegoing ceremony would be private. Lamar admitted that he initially wanted to “rush the process” so their family would “start the healing process.” However, after consulting with others who cared for Quan, Lamar decided to make the funeral public in order for fans to pay their respects on what he says will be a “grand occasion.”
“Without the fans, there would be no Quan,” Lamar stated, later adding that he would like to allow RHQ supporters to attend the service.
Rich Homie Quan passed away last week after being found unresponsive by his girlfriend in the couple’s home. A 911 call revealed that she could not detect any signs of life while speaking with the operator. An autopsy has been concluded, though the cause of death has not yet been made public. Multiple reports online have pointed to a possible overdose, though the family has not confirmed this. Instead, they have turned their focus to keeping his memory alive.
“This homegoing for my son, I want it to be bigger than life. I want people to see the impact that Quan had on a lot of people,” Lamar said on the call.
As of now, no date has been announced for the service.
