The Fulton County Medical Examiner has confirmed the official cause of Rich Homie Quan‘s death.
The 34-year-old rapper passed away from an accidental overdose caused by a mix of drugs, including fentanyl, alprazolam (Xanax), codeine, and promethazine, per a report released by the medical examiner’s office Tuesday.
According to a police report, Quan’s brother discovered the rapper asleep on the kitchen floor at 3 a.m. on the day of his death and found food in his mouth, which he described as “very unusual.” He moved Quan to the couch, but later that morning, his girlfriend called emergency services after realizing he was unresponsive and cold to the touch.
The rapper, whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, leaves behind five children: sons Devin, Royal, Khosen, Loyal, and daughter Alayna.
Rich Homie Quan, was laid to rest on Sept. 17 in Georgia, where fans were invited to celebrate his life at a public event that was also live-streamed.
Following his passing, the rapper’s estate released a posthumous song and music video, offering a tribute to his career and life.
