Rich The Kid Arrested for Trespassing and Resisting an Officer After Entering Miami Beach Hotel During Bomb Threat Investigation

Rich The Kid found himself in jail early Monday morning as authorities were responding to a bomb threat.

According to TMZ, the “Plug Walk” rapper was in Miami during the bustling Art Basel weekend when police were investigating a bomb threat at the SLS Hotel in South Beach. While Rich was not involved in the initial threat, authorities say he disobeyed their orders as they were conducting their investigation. Police had “do not cross” tape blocking off an area, but when Rich approached them, he complained that he needed to cross to enter the hotel. When Rich was told he’d be arrested if he breached the tape, he allegedly responded, “I’ll bond out in 20 minutes,” and proceeded to cross the restricted area. Officers repeatedly warned him that he would be arrested but were ignored by the rapper.

Hotel security also informed Rich that he could not enter the building as they needed to allow time for the K-9 officers to check for explosives. Well, Rich didn’t take that lightly either and jumped a fence to enter the hotel where the bomb investigation was still taking place. Once again, police told him to exit. Still, instead of removing himself from the premises, Rich reportedly went outside and lingered around the parking lot a bit longer until he was finally arrested.

He has since been charged with trespassing after being given a warning and resisting arrest without violence. Rich has since bonded out of jail, though it took a bit longer than 20 minutes.
