Richard Sherman was arrested early this morning in Washington State for a charge of “burglary domestic violence” and was denied bail.
According to TMZ Sports, the 33-year-old NFL free agent was booked into the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle early this morning, shortly after being taken down by a police K9 after trying to break into a family member’s home.
A spokesperson shared that the home’s occupants called the police, sharing that a family member who did not live at the residence tried to break in. When cops arrived, Sherman was identified as the suspect. Cops say the NFL star was combative and uncooperative during the questioning, so much so, a K9 had to be deployed to bring him into custody. Cops also say Sherman allegedly crashed his vehicle into a cement freeway barrier before making his way to the home.
Sherman was taken to the hospital to be looked at for possible injuries before being booked in a King County jail where he remains.
