Rick Moranis will be returning to one of the franchises he helped build. He is set to appear in Disney’s upcoming reboot of “Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.”
Moranis will reprise his role as Wayne Szalinski, the zealot scientist who accidentally shrunk his kids, the neighbor’s kids, and then made his infant child enormous in 1992’s “Honey, I Blew Up The Kid.” He also accidentally shrunk himself and his wife in the 1997 sequel “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves,” which was the last time Moranis acted in a live-action feature, according to Variety.
In the new film, titled “Shrunk,” Josh Gad will play Szalinski’s son, who, of course, shrinks his family. Joe Johnston, who is the original director, is returning to make the sequel, with Todd Rosenberg set to the script.
