Uncle Sam is coming for Rick Ross, who they say owes $5.7 million in back taxes. According to the IRS, the taxes owed are from between the years of 2012 and 2014. A little over $4.6 million of that is from 2012 alone. Another $570,000 a piece for 2013 and 2014, respectively.
TMZ reports that the IRS has issued a tax lien in an attempt to recover what’s owed.
Rick Ross had a pretty awesome run between 2012 and 2014. In the Summer of 2010 he dropped Tephlon Don, which ranked pretty well on the charts. That led to him touring with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne in 2011. Then in 2012 he dropped “God Forgives, I Don’t” which spawned the singles Diced Pineapples, Touchin’ You featuring Usher and So Sophisticated. Since then he’s pretty much kept the momentum going.
We’ve seen tax issues get resolved pretty quickly, and with Rick Ross’ latest investments in fast food chains, he’ll be able to pay off that tax lien in no time!
