Rick Ross is facing a legal battle after a disabled man filed a lawsuit against him, claiming the rapper failed to ensure his car show was accessible for those with disabilities.
The man, Darris Straughter, alleges that Ross promoted his car show as a must-see event at his property, but Darris says he never got the chance to attend. He claims that despite being assured multiple times that a wheelchair-accessible shuttle would be available, it never arrived.
Darris reportedly went all out to attend the show, even selling his car to cover travel, lodging, and ticket expenses. He says he reached out to the venue two weeks ahead of the event to request accommodations for his wheelchair. However, after waiting for hours in the parking lot, the shuttle bus never showed up. Frustrated, he gave away his ticket and returned to his hotel.
Darris, along with his attorney John Hoover Esq., claims that event organizers had promised refunds for those unable to attend, but he says no one followed up with him. Now, he’s suing Rick Ross for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violating the Americans with Disabilities Act. He’s seeking damages and a court order to ensure future events are fully accessible for disabled attendees.
