It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but for some that time is all year. Therefore, we ask, when is the right time to put up your Christmas tree and when should you take it down?
As the wind breeze starts to pick up with some areas getting snow, the jolly spirit of Christmas arises, some people can’t wait til ‘tis the season’ to start adding there Christmas decorations. Some may start as early as the day after Halloween, while others never took their tree or lights down in the first place.
Although, there is no actual date set for everyone to start putting up their Christmas decorations, there’s a rule of thumb that majority of people know to wait a few days before, the day of, or the day after Thanksgiving to add the tree to their décor. If you have your tree up before Halloween, you are probably too early as many companies still haven’t even put out real trees for sale.
Now, when Christmas is all over, many parents are drained from all the shopping, gift wrapping, cooking, and more, to make the holidays special for their loved ones. So, it is understandable that you may not get to taking the decorations down right away. Often times, most people wait until after the New Year to start removing the decorations with some withstanding the entire month of January. You know you are late when you’ve reached mid-February around Valentine’s day and your tree is still sitting in the living room with no gifts under it or decorations.
Also, for the record, no, we don’t want to see Christmas lights on your house all year around. If your lights are still up when it’s starting to get hot outside, you are clearly either too lazy, obsessed with Christmas, or want consistently high electricity bills.
We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and ended it spending quality time with family by putting up & decorating your tree. ?
