Both Rihanna and Chris Brown have been feeling philanthropic. In attempts to shed the negative image portrayed of them, the former couple have each done a good deed.
In an effort to shine light on his humanitarianism, Chris Brown gave away 1,000 new Reebok sneakers to the kids at Crenshaw High School during the “WE US: Walk Everywhere in Unity’s Shoes” event in L.A. Chris Brown has increasingly been making efforts to help raise awareness for gang reduction in L.A. communities. Besides teaming up with L.A.’s mayor office, the Unity campaign, plus other organizations that also advocate against gang violence, Chris Breezy has also dropped his “Don’t Think They Know” video featuring vocals by Aaliyah, that shed light on Los Angeles’ increasing gang problem. 1,000 kicks for kids was definitely the icing on the cake.
On the flip side, pop singer Rihanna has recently written a check for $5,000 to a high school in a suburban Chicago neighborhood. Reports say that they check came from the singer’s desire to do something for the students there following her appearance at the school in March of this year. The check is also supposed to cover any additional expenses that the school may have had in order to have Rihanna show up. Back in March Rihanna came to the school after a student made a video that was entered into a contest. The prize of which was the chance to have see Rihanna. Well, that was nice of her.
