Rihanna Named Ambassador Of Her Native Country Barbados, Says She Looks Forward To “Reimagining Barbados”

Our beloved #Rihanna has a new title, Ambassador of #Barbados! The pop icon has been appointed the role by Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley.

Already a cultural ambassador for the country, the singer and entrepreneur will promote education, tourism and investments in her home country and Mottle says its due to Rihanna’s “significant creative acumen and shrewdness in business”.

Mottley said, “Rihanna has a deep love for this country and this is reflected in her philanthropy, especially in the areas of health and education. She also shows her patriotism in the way she gives back to this country and continues to treasure the island as her home.”

Riri’s  expanded role reflects her “global influence across a much broader range of areas,”

Motley added. She also noted Rihanna’s significant charitable contributions at home and around the world.

“I couldn’t be more proud to take on such a prestigious title in my home country,” Rihanna said. “Every Barbadian is going to have to play their role in this current effort, and I’m ready and excited to take on the responsibility. I look forward to working with Prime Minister Mottley and her team to reimagine Barbados.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ms. Fenty has been fighting political and social issues for a while now so this new role suits her perfectly. Remember when Rihanna made #Snapchat stock drop drastically when she called them out for joking about domestic violence with the “Slap Rihanna or punch #ChrisBrown” ad? Or the time when she head up with #DonaldTrump about his Hurricane Maria relief efforts (or lack thereof).
