Mondelēz Global LLC has issued a nationwide recall for four sizes of Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches. According to the FDA, some packages are mislabeled as “cheese” but may contain peanut butter, creating a serious risk for those with peanut allergies.
“The U.S. Food and Drug Administration noted that people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts could be at risk of ‘serious or life-threatening allergic reactions by consuming this product.’”
Affected sizes include 8-pack, 20-pack, 40-pack, and a 20-pack variety pack with specific best-by dates and plant codes. No other Ritz products are part of the recall, and no illnesses have been reported so far. Consumers are urged to throw the products away.
