In a recent livestream, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. revealed a surprising claim about former President Donald Trump’s intentions for him if Trump wins the 2024 election. According to Kennedy, Trump personally promised that he would appoint him to oversee several critical public health agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), among others. Kennedy stated that Trump also included the Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the potential role, emphasizing that these agencies are essential to improving America’s overall health.
In the video, Kennedy outlined the agencies he’d supposedly control, saying, “The key that I think, you know, that President Trump has promised me is control of the public health agencies, which are HHS and its sub-agencies, CDC, FDA, NIH, and a few others. And then also the USDA, which is… key to making America healthy.”
This statement comes on the heels of Kennedy’s own presidential campaign announcement. Kennedy, previously a lifelong Democrat, has shifted to run as an independent for the 2024 election. Known for his strong stance on various health issues, particularly his controversial conspiracy theories on vaccines, Kennedy has been a divisive figure in public health discussions. His partnership with Trump, even hypothetically, signals a possible alliance between two figures often critical of government health policies, particularly around COVID-19 and other vaccination efforts.
Kennedy’s mention of the USDA suggests a broader vision for the country’s health policy. He touched on the importance of nutrition, calling for Americans to “get off of seed oils,” which he sees as a key factor in reducing chronic health issues. His comments reflect a holistic approach, tying together food, nutrition, and public health under one leadership umbrella—an approach he believes could make America healthier.
It’s unclear if Trump has officially confirmed this promise, but Kennedy’s statement is already stirring significant public interest and raising questions about what a second Trump administration might look like with Kennedy in a powerful health leadership role.
