Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong have returned to the “Masked Singer” after their brief protest of Rudy Giuliani being on the show.
During the first taping of the season, former NYC mayor and Donald Trump’s former attorney were the first to be eliminated off the show. Once he was unmasked to the judges and audience members, Thicke and Jeong left the set.
A source close to the show says Thicke didn’t actually storm off because he was upset about Giuliani being on the show. Instead, he was trying to check on Jeong, whom he is close friends with. Jeong reportedly felt “disrespected” and was “livid to see Rudy was under the mask.” Jeong, who obtained a medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and practiced medicine for several years, has been vocal about how the Trump administration handled the COVID-19 pandemic. Giuliani has spread damning misinformation regarding the virus.
Despite the disdain with the attorney’s appearance on the show, Jeong and Thicke have returned to work. On Thursday, both men posed for a promotional photoshoot with their fellow judges, Nicole Scherzinger and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, for the show’s upcoming 7th season.
