Roddy Ricch had to set the record straight after a YouTuber, Prieto Hunters, claimed he found the rapper’s lost Grammy in a $280 storage unit purchase.
The drama unfolded when Hunters posted about the discovery, turning the situation into a messy standoff over money and clout.
Ricch, who won the Grammy for “Racks in the Middle” with Nipsey Hussle, went live on Instagram Monday to update fans.
He explained that while he initially offered $10K to get his award back, Hunters demanded a ridiculous $50K and even requested an AP watch.
“It was never about just getting it back to me. It was about a n**ga trying to get clout or extort me,” Ricch said.
After negotiations, they agreed on a price and met at a California police station. But instead of a simple handoff, Ricch said Hunters showed up with “two cops and three n**gas with cameras.”
While the situation was messy, Ricch later thanked Prieto Hunters in an Instagram story for ultimately returning the Grammy.
