The Rolex Certified Pre-owned program has finally made its way to the United States, months after it was initially announced.
The watch company first rolled out the lucrative program in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Denmark, and the U.K. in December. Now, U.S. Rolex retail locations will allow customers to purchase certified pre-owned timepieces directly from them. Select Tourneau | Bucherer stores and Watches of Switzerland will also participate in the pre-owned program. This new offering also allows Rolex owners to resell their watches that are at least three years old.
According to the Rolex website, the Certified Pre-Owned program authenticates each Rolex at the time of resale. An Official Jeweler will inspect each piece to ensure all secondhand products benefit from the same quality. Each watch purchase has a Rolex Certified Pre-Own ed seal, symbolizing it as a genuine CPO timepiece. Customers will also be given a specialized pouch and a service booklet. This seal represents its authenticity, indicates the purchase date, and guarantees it works appropriately. Each pre-owned purchase comes with a two-year international warranty. As far as pricing, the Official Rolex Jeweler will determine how much each timepiece will go for. This means pricing could vary for identical watches depending on the boutique.
This new program offers customers an opportunity to own a slightly reduced-priced Rolex without the worry of whether or not it’s genuine. Some pieces may be priced more than new watches, but that will likely be due to the watch’s exclusivity.
“It provides the assurance of buying certified Rolex products and enables the end customer to benefit from the full know-how and professionalism of the brand’s worldwide network of experts,” a statement by the company read.
