What an incredible rookie season it’s been for Angel Reese!
On Sunday, Reese made history by breaking the WNBA single-season total rebounding record. With her 405th rebound of the 2024 season against the Minnesota Lynx, she surpassed Sylvia Fowles’ previous record of 404 set in 2018. This is a phenomenal achievement for the Chicago Sky star, and she still has eight games left to add to her record-breaking total.
Reese also holds the record for the most consecutive double-double performances with 15. She’s the only rookie to notch at least 23 double-doubles and the only player in WNBA history to grab 20 or more rebounds in three consecutive games. Her dominance on the boards has been on full display all season, and now the accolades are rolling in.
Her debut in professional basketball has been nothing short of spectacular, shattering records and earning her rightful place among the league’s elite. Not only has she surpassed multiple rookie milestones and secured an All-Star spot, but Reese is also firmly in the conversation for Rookie of the Year.  As she heads into the final stretch of her record-breaking season, the 22-year-old is averaging an impressive 13.2 points and 12.9 rebounds per game for Chicago.
With games still on the schedule, Reese has plenty of time to continue building her lead and cement her place in the record books.
