The Roots Picnic is back for 2025, and the lineup is fire.
Headlining the festival will be four-time Grammy winner D’Angelo alongside The Roots themselves.
Rock legend Lenny Kravitz, also a four-time Grammy Award winner, will perform a set spanning his decades-long career, plus songs from his latest album, Blue Electric Light.
And of course, Philly’s own Meek Mill will finally make his debut at the Roots Picnic stage.
This year’s festival will be held at The Mann Center in Fairmount Park, Philly, on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1.
The festival will also welcome a diverse mix of artists, including GloRilla, Tems, Latto, Kaytranada, Jeezy, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Musiq Soulchild, Jagged Edge, and more. Special anniversary performances will take place throughout the weekend, with Jeezy celebrating the 20th anniversary of Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, Musiq Soulchild marking the 25th anniversary of Aijuswanaseing, and The Roots honoring the 30th anniversary of Do You Want More?!!!??!. The J.Period Live Mixtape will return with a collaboration between Black Thought, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz, while legendary producer Adam Blackstone will bring a special set featuring Jagged Edge.
In addition to high-energy performances, Roots Picnic will feature a special Baller Alert Go-Go set, bringing the signature D.C. sound to Philadelphia. This exclusive performance will feature Backyard Band and CeeLo Green, promising an electrifying fusion of hip-hop, funk, and live instrumentation that embodies the essence of go-go culture.
Additional performers will be revealed in the coming weeks.
