Rosie O’Donnell’s oldest daughter, Chelsea Belle O’Donnell, was recently charged with multiple felonies, including child neglect, possession of methamphetamine, and drug trafficking.
The most distressing detail of her September 17th arrest is that her 11-month-old child was found in a home littered with meth pipes, feces, garbage, and used needles. Court documents reveal that Chelsea had been involved in a series of troubling incidents. Police responded to a 911 call in early September, where officers found her with dilated pupils and signs of drug use. The home, described as “disgusting,” was full of dangerous drug paraphernalia within easy reach of her son. Officers reported finding a meth pipe in her pocket and multiple syringes loaded with blood under the baby’s crib. Rotten food, used feminine hygiene products, feces-clad underwear, and dirty diapers were also all throughout the home.
Chelsea, who has battled personal struggles for years, was previously reported missing as a teenager and later admitted to experiencing depression and anxiety. Her complicated relationship with her mother, Rosie, has been public knowledge, and this latest development seems to be the culmination of years of turmoil. Rosie and her ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter, adopted Chelsea as an infant.
The comedian and talk show host has not spoken out publicly about her daughter’s legal troubles. Chelsea has four children, though it’s unclear if they are in her custody, especially given her recent arrest.
