Jones, 55, known for his multiple titles across various weight classes, expressed his grief and gratitude in a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter). He shared how fortunate he felt to have spent time with his son just before his untimely death on Saturday.
“I’m so thankful that God allowed me to come home Friday night to spend the last night of his life with me and the family,” Jones wrote. “I know a lot of people are going through tough times right now, but nothing is worth taking your own life. God gives it and God should be the one to take it away.”
In his message, Jones also urged anyone struggling with difficult emotions to seek help, emphasizing the value of life. He requested privacy during this incredibly challenging time and thanked the public for their “love and support.”
