Rudy Farias’ mother anticipates being arrested as her son, who was reported missing eight years ago, has been located.
According to his mother Janie Santana, 25-year-old Rudy, was found near a church in Houston, Texas on June 29th. He had reportedly disappeared in 2015. Shortly after her statement, doubt was casted upon Santana following revelations from a counselor who interviewed Rudy alongside Houston Police Department officers. The counselor stated that Rudy endured sexual and physical abuse and had been concealed by his mother throughout the entire period.
The counselor alleged that Mr. Farias disclosed instances of sexual and physical abuse by his mother, as well as being coerced into consuming hallucinogenic mushrooms. Furthermore, the counselor claimed that Mr. Farias was kept concealed within the home during the period when his mother publicly pleaded for his safe return, despite her claims of his disappearance.
More recently, Santana reportedly informed her neighbors that she anticipates being arrested following the counselor’s revelation.
“When he first went missing, he didn’t report it to the police,” Santana said in a video clip. “And they are trying to say that he might have done some crimes. Which he didn’t. And now they want to arrest me. Because they said I was hiding him.”
Since the unusual “discovery” was announced earlier this week, both family members and neighbors have come forward, claiming that they were aware of Rudy’s presence at his mother’s residence. In fact, Rudy’s cousin Cassandra Lopez, says they “knew in their hearts” that Rudy wasn’t missing.
Nevertheless, police are still investigating the situation but are not revealing any details of the matter.
“While there are reports of some of the content of the interviews being released, our detectives are not in a position at this time to discuss specifics,” Houston PD said.
