Caroline Giuliani, daughter of former New York City Mayor and Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, says that the only way for Americans to “end this nightmare” is by voting for Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris.
On Thursday, Vanity Fair published a piece where Caroline called on voters to end Trump’s “reign of terror” and to “elect a compassionate and decent president.”
Giuliani, who has publicly supported Democratic candidates in past presidential elections wrote, “I may not be able to change my father’s mind, but together, we can vote this toxic administration out of office.”
According to The Washington Post, it was reported that the White House was warned that Rudy Giuliani “was being used to feed Russian misinformation” to Donald Trump.
She continued, “If being the daughter of a polarizing mayor who became the president’s personal bulldog has taught me anything, it is that corruption starts with ‘yes-men’ and women, the cronies who create an echo chamber of lies and subservience to maintain their proximity to power.” She added, “We’ve seen this ad nauseam with Trump and his cadre of high-level sycophants (the ones who weren’t convicted, anyway).”
Giuliani accused Trump “and his enablers” of using his presidency to “stoke the injustice that already permeated our society.” She slammed his policies for not giving the LGBTQ community any protection and she criticized the way he handled the Covid-19 pandemic.
She commended Biden for picking Harris as his running mate and insisted that former vice president Joe Biden would be capable of bipartisanship and assimilating progressive views. Giuliani also praised Biden’s proposal to combat climate change and warned that “it is clear that our planet cannot survive four more years of this administration’s environmental assault.”
“In Joe Biden, we’ll have a leader who prioritizes common ground and civility over alienation, bullying, and scorched-earth tactics,” she wrote.
Though she admits that Biden was not her first presidential choice during the primaries, she said, “I know what is at stake, and Joe Biden will be everyone’s president if elected.”
Caroline is the youngest of Rudy Giuliani’s two children with his ex-wife, Donna Hanover, and she supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election while her father backed Trump. In 2008 she joined a Facebook group that supported Barack Obama for president when her father was seeking the GOP nomination.
