Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s youngest daughter, Rumi Carter, has made history like the rest of her famous family.
The six-year-old is now the youngest-charting female artist in Billboard history. She is included on Bey’s “Protector” from her “Cowboy Carter” album. Rumi sweetly says at the beginning of the track, “Mom, can I hear the lullaby? Please?”
“Protector” debuted at No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated April 13th. The moment is especially exciting for the family, considering that big sister Blue Ivy previously held the title of youngest-charting female artist. Blue’s debut on the Billboard Hot 100 came about in 2019 when she appeared alongside their mother on “Brown Skin Girl,” featuring SAINt JHN and Wizkid. That song peaked at No. 76.
“Cowboy Carter” has been making a lot of noise since its March 29th release. The album moved a staggering 407,000 units in first-week sales, becoming the biggest musical debut of the year thus far. It has also become Bey’s eighth number-one album on the Billboard 200. “Cowboy Carter” also made the 42-year-old the first Black woman to top the Top Country Albums chart. Three tracks from the album are also in the top three on the Hot Country Songs chart.
The “Act II” project is the follow-up to Bey’s famed “Renaissance” album. Blue Ivy also played a pivotal role in the Renaissance World Tour, joining her mother as a special guest on several of the stops.
Needless to say, the Carters are ensuring their children are always included in the family business.
