Rumor has it that after one year on the show, co-host Keshia Chante has left BET’s 106 & Park.
We received a tip earlier today and it may hold some weight. Sources say she chose not to renew another year of her 4 year contract as co-host (alongside Shad Moss) with BET Networks to take on other projects.
Whispers began last week when Chante was a no-show & celebrity guest co-hosts Erica Mena, Teyana Taylor, Tinashe & others were slotted to fill in. Some of our inside sources say that Keshia’s boyfriend, Blackhawks hockey player named Ray Emery, is convincing Keshia that she is bigger than 106 & Park and that she should quit. They also confirm that he is the reason she has been missing shows.
According to another source, “Producer’s have been scrambling trying to find someone to fill her role. Surprisingly enough, 106 & Park’s ratings were stabilized once she joined the show after a series of declines prior. Executives are worried that another change may end the show for good.” 106 & Park has been a staple show for BET Networks for 14 years.
My generation doesn’t really watch 106 & Park anymore so I’ll have to ask the kids if they’ll miss Miss Keshia. Ladies, would you quit your job if your man told you to?
