The Denver Broncos’ 0-3 start to the season has been anything but smooth sailing, with their latest 70-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins leaving fans in disbelief. Since 1966, no team has scored this many points in a game.

The ‘ride’ Russell Wilson and the Broncos are on has been full of bumps and bruises, and the ride has not gotten any smoother after their most recent encounter with the Dolphins on the road. Notably, the Dolphins’ starters were benched at the outset of the fourth quarter. And in a display of sportsmanship, coach Mike McDaniel refrained from running up the score further as time ticked away– though every fan wishes he would have. After all, when you’re already leading by 37 points, the question arises: Why continue to play?

While many pointed fingers at Russell Wilson, it’s worth noting that Wilson doesn’t play on the defensive side of the ball. Nevertheless, the public eye doesn’t discriminate, especially when you’re earning a staggering $72 million this year—yes, $72 million.
