Back in January, an aspiring filmmaker filed a lawsuit against Russell Simmons, claiming rape. Now, after months of legal back and forth over the claims, the lawsuit has been dropped.

In the initial $5 million suit, Jennifer Jarosik said the incident occurred in 2016 after Simmons invited her to his Los Angeles home to discuss a new project. However, things allegedly took a turn for the worse when Simmons allegedly forced himself on her in an aggressive attack.

At the time, according to the suit, Jarosik told a few close friends, but it wasn’t until other woman came forward with allegations that she decided to move forward with her own.

In turn, Simmons filed a response to the suit, claiming that the sexual relationship between the two was consensual. He also referenced the text messages and unsolicited nudes Jarosik sent him after the alleged rape, using it as proof that she was in it for the money.

Since then though, the lawsuit has been dismissed.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, both parties filed a joint stipulation of dismissal with prejudice, meaning Jarosik cannot refile.
