According to reports, Russell Wilson has accepted a five-year, $245 million contract extension with the Denver Broncos.
Wilson, a former Seahawks quarterback who was traded to the Denver Broncos in March, is reportedly under contract for seven years and $296 million, with $165 million guaranteed.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the deal took five months to negotiate. Denver was waiting for its new owners to come in and quickly understand the situation.
Wilson’s new contract makes him the second-highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, behind Aaron Rodgers‘ $50 million per season.
