Russell Wilson and Ciara are powerhouses within their own respective careers, but as a couple, they are working on building an empire, and it’s a beautiful thing to witness. Major league soccer is a popular worldwide sport and it’s finally gaining mainstream popularity in the states. With each new team, there is a wave of opportunities for investors and interested parties to become team owners.
Russell and Ciara have now joined the ownership structure of the Seattle Sounders. They join the ranks of 11 other families in the ownership group, which also includes Macklemore, Drew Carey, and former executives with Microsoft.
Russell took to Twitter to share the big news stating, “Football. Fútbol. We Love them both! @ciara and I are fired up to announce we are Team Owners of the Seattle @SoundersFC one of the best soccer franchises in the world! We can’t wait for our kids to grow up loving Soccer! Family is everything!” Ciara shared her thoughts as well stating, “This is not only a special moment for Russ and I, but for our kids as well. When we walked into the building and our kids were running around with their names on their little jerseys, it meant a lot for so many reasons. It’s an honor to join the Sounders team and have the unique opportunity to represent female ownership within major league sports.”
Congratulations to Russell and Ciara on making power couple moves.
