Ciara says Russell Wilson is a great football coach for her son, Future Zahir Wilburn, but does not go easy on him.
The “One, Two Step” shared a few words with PEOPLE while on the Revolve Gallery red carpet about Future’s training with his quarterback stepfather. She explained that Wilson is always concerned with perfecting the technique, which he wants young Future to learn.
Cici says while the former Seahawks star can be a bit tough on the 8-year-old, it’s all out of love.
“He’s firm with love, though. He’s all about coming back with love, and so it’s beautiful,” the 36-year-old shared.
The future footballer has plenty of role models to look up to in his life. As the son of rapper Future and Ciara, music is embedded in his DNA. However, having one of the best NFL quarterbacks as a stepfather has its advantages, meaning Future is getting the best training of any little leaguer his age.
This month, Wilson agreed to a five-year extension with the Denver Broncos through the 2028 season. Wilson’s new deal is worth up to $245 million and includes $165 million guaranteed.
Ciara and Wilson became an item in 2015 after her breakup from the “Same Damn Time” rapper and married in July 2016. In addition to Future, the two share 5-year-old daughter Sienna Princess and 2-year-old son Win Harrison.
