In the wake of the success of the record-breaking “Black Panther,” director Ryan Coogler is already in “informal talks” with talent for the sequel.

According to the UK-based site, Metro, sources say Coogler may be eyeing Donald Glover for a new role in the highly anticipated film.

“Ryan Coogler is currently mapping out Black Panther’s sequel and has written in a number of new character that movie-goers will be introduced to when it premieres,” a source told the publication. “One of those characters, if he gets his wish, will be played by Childish Gambino. Nothing is set in stone but “informal talks” [are happening] between Ryan, Gambino, and reps from Marvel and Disney to see if they can make it happen.”

In fact, the source also claimed Coogler has been toying with the idea of a reemergence of villain Erik Killmonger, played by heartthrob, Michael B. Jordan. Especially since the character came back from the dead in the comics.

“They’re still yet to decide if Michael B Jordan will return in some capacity but if he doesn’t it’s likely Gambino may play some kind of villain.”

Although Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has already confirmed the sequel, Coogler is still thinking about an all-female Black Panther spin-off, starring Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira and Angela Basset.

“There’s a whole section of the film where T’Challa is out of the movie and you’re just following the women, and that’s one of [my] favorite parts of the movie. I didn’t expect that,” he said earlier this month.
