Ryan Destiny Lands Recurring Role On Freeform’s “Grown-ish”

In the wake of the cancellation of Fox’s hit series “Star,” the show’s lead is taking her talents to Freeform to join the cast of “Grown-ish.” 

According to Deadline, Ryan Destiny has officially been tapped to link with Yara Shahidi, Trevor Jackson and the Baileys for a recurring role on the third season of the Freeform series. As Zoey, played by Shahidi, continues to take on the issues of higher education, Destiny will tag along as a new transfer from an HBCU. 

Studying filming at Cal U, Deadline reports, Destiny’s character Jillian, will be a “smart, worldly and cultured,” addition, who will be able to “talk art and music with Luca, politics and activism with Aaron,” and will also fit “right in with Zoey and her eclectic crew of girls.

Although production for season 3 begins on Monday, ‘Grown-ish’ season 2 airs Wednesdays on Freeform.
