Ryan Garcia’s ex-wife, Andrea Celina Velarde, has been granted a restraining order against the boxer.
Velarde appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom last week to file the protection request following a terrifying July 19th incident. Velarde says that while she was out to eat with her brother, Garcia showed up and began threatening the two. After fleeing the restaurant, Velarde told the court that the troubled athlete followed her home and remained outside for ten minutes. After leaving, Garcia allegedly spent the next two days telling Velarde he would place a hit on her brother and father if she refused to talk to him.
“It’s f****** WAR … I want to murder your … Brother. I can’t wait. We are going to kill him,” one text from Garcia read. In another, he wrote, “I’ll kill your dad and your brother at the same time.”
Additionally, Garcia has threatened to leak their sex tapes online. After reviewing the mountain of evidence, a judge ordered the boxer to remain at least 100 yards away from Velarde and the former couple’s two children. The protection order also extends to her brother and parents. He’s also been ordered to destroy all explicit footage he has of his ex-wife. Just days before the restaurant incident, Garcia allegedly destroyed her home and called her names such as “wh**e” and “b***h.”
The pair separated in December 2023. Garcia announced the split the following month, and it appears the divorce was finalized quickly. Garcia has vowed to seek rehab but claims he has never gotten physical with his ex-wife.
