Team USA swimmer, 32-year-old Ryan Lochte decided to go for a night on the town days after winning the gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay. Unfortunately, his night did not end on a high note.
Reports say Lochte was invited to party with Brazilian swimmer Thiago Pereira, but ended up being held up at gunpoint before it was all over. The details surrounding the event are unknown, but it’s reported that he is now safe and called his mother following the incident. His mother described the ordeal to Fox Sports News as “terrifying.”
We’ve seen the videos of the thefts and robberies happening in Rio, it’s great that Lochte is unharmed.
