Rapper Rylo Rodriguez has never shied away from his love for sipping lean, but fans were shocked when he revealed how much his habit cost him.
Rodriguez is most popularly known as one of the first artists to be signed to Lil Baby’s 4PF record label. While his music has amassed a fanbase for records such as “Home Run” and “Walk,” it is his funny social media happenings that keep him in the spotlight. However, his brief January chat with rap interviewer Awaiz Dawave was no laughing matter.
Awaiz asked the 29-year-old what’s the most money he’d spent on lean in one week. Rodriguez paused briefly to do some quick calculations before landing between $3,800 and $4,000. Fans immediately flocked to the comments, with some slamming Rodriguez for his potentially lethal habit while others encouraged him to find a cheaper supplier. Other critics bashed Awaiz for asking that, calling him “corny” and questioning why he wouldn’t ask the artist something music-related. Interestingly, Awaiz would eventually ask Rodriguez how he chooses music samples, but that video was part two and didn’t gain the same traction as the first lean video.
While this hefty price tag may be off-putting, many rappers have been vocal about their lean usage. His label head, Lil Baby, even battled with lean addiction for a decade before successfully kicking his habit.
Hopefully, Rylo Rodriguez can do the same so that the world can witness his talents on the mic.
