Sabra has recalled more than 2,000 cases of its hummus because it was possibly contaminated with salmonella.
On Monday, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and Sabra Dipping Company LLC sent out a statement announcing the recall of approximately 2,100 cases of its 10 oz. Classic Hummus after a routine screening found possible contamination of salmonella, People reports.
The recall includes tubs produced on February 10 between 6 p.m. and midnight with a “best before” date of April 26. The FDA said it is “unlikely” that customers will come across the rubs as the product is more than halfway through its shelf life.
There are 16 states the tubs were distributed into, including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Indiana, Mississippi, Maine, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, New Jersey, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. The FDA said no other products had needed a recall.
Sabra’s website says you should return the item to the place of purchase or visit Sabra’s website to receive a full refund for those who have already bought the product. Back in 2016, Sabra recalled 57 varieties of its hummus after possible listeria contamination.
