Safaree Samuels is facing heavy criticism after posting a wildly inappropriate tweet in response to Cassie’s chilling testimony against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The rapper and reality star took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on the ongoing legal drama involving Cassie, who has accused Diddy of years of abuse, including forced encounters with male escorts.
In the since-viral post, Safaree wrote:
“If I was Cassie husband I wouldn’t care bout nothing she saying either because it was all b4 me.. I would just know I need to turn my freak up a million knotches.”
Though he appeared to be attempting humor or perhaps solidarity, the timing and tone landed flat — and offensive. Safaree’s tweet was quickly called out as tone-deaf, given the serious nature of Cassie’s recent legal actions and the disturbing details she shared.
Cassie, who is now married to personal trainer Alex Fine, filed a lawsuit against Diddy in 2023, detailing years of alleged abuse, including drugging, physical violence, and sexual coercion. Diddy denied the claims, but settled the case just one day after it was filed, signaling to many that there may have been more truth than fiction in her testimony.
With such a heavy topic in the public spotlight, Safaree’s tweet was met with immediate backlash. Many accused him of trivializing Cassie’s trauma, making light of her pain, and turning a serious moment into a self-serving commentary about his own sexual prowess.
In a moment when support and sensitivity are needed most, Safaree’s post comes off as ignorant at best and offensive at worst — proving once again that not every thought needs to be shared online.
