A San Antonio man reportedly killed his girlfriend because she wouldn’t have a baby with him.
According to reports, Adam Byrd, 23, has been accused of committing homicide by shooting his girlfriend, Jade Alyssa Alvarez, 22, a few days after he robbed a store while wielding a firearm. After spending time with Alvarez on the evening before the shooting, a woman informed the police that the victim had been in a relationship with Byrd.
The report states Byrd had conversed with Alvarez on the woman’s phone and requested that she be dropped off on Capitol Avenue. However, several hours later, Alvarez’s lifeless body was found at the same location where she met Byrd.
At the time, Byrd had an active warrant for two counts of aggravated robbery stemming from an incident that occurred earlier in the month. After being arrested and interrogated about the robbery, Byrd confessed that he had murdered Alvarez over a disagreement about having his child. Byrd also said he used the same gun to kill Alvarez that he used in the robbery.
In addition to the two counts of aggravated robbery charges, Byrd is facing murder charges as well and is currently held in Bexar County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
