Over a year ago former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh chose Colin Kaepernick as quarterback over Alex Smith.
Fans were impressed with his cocky, sometimes reckless, abilities that from the 2012 and 2013 seasons had him at a 19-7 record as a starter. However, it’s his current season that has left many questioning whether he was worth the contract the 49ers gave him.
Ever since week 3, critics and fans have been unimpressed with Kaepernick’s performance. As the losses piled up, Kaepernick’s fate was inevitable.
In hopes of saving what remains of their season, Kaepernick has been benched and Blain Gabbert will start in his place.
Could this be the foundation that sends Kaepernick to another team this off-season?
