Actress Sandra Bullock has been dealt a devastating blow after losing her boyfriend, Bryan Randall, to ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
On Monday, the photographer’s family announced the news in an exclusive statement to People. According to them, he’d fought the debilitating disease for three years behind the scenes. Sadly, on Saturday, August 5th, he lost his battle with the illness at age 57.Â
He and Bullock began dating in 2015, meeting when he was hired to photograph her son Louis’ birthday festivities. The two seemed to hit it off immediately. However, their relationship appeared to hit a rough patch in the fall of 2022. A source told US Magazine just days ago that the couple had been living apart for much of last year. Neither of them spoke publicly about the status of their relationship in recent years. Their reluctance to confirm or deny their romance comes as no surprise, considering that both Randall and Bullock kept much of their issues out of the spotlight. She has not yet spoken out about his death. It’s unknown if she was by his side when he passed away, and his loved ones did not mention the actress but did ask for privacy and thanked the medical professional who worked hard to save Randall.Â
“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” the statement read.
