The typically quiet Savannah James has been opening up lately on her new podcast, allowing fans to get to know more about her life pre-basketball wife.
During her recent episode of her show, “Everybody’s Crazy,” she revealed that her high school years were filled with fights. According to Savannah, she was the subject of girls being mean to her for no apparent reason.
“I had to defend myself,” Savannah shared, adding, “I had girls who didn’t like me and couldn’t tell nobody why they didn’t like me.” The mom of three says she often tried to mind her business but admitted that she was an “ally of my friends” and frequently fought their battles.
“I feel like I got along with the majority everybody,” Savannah reflected.
Co-host April McDaniel suggested that many girls probably hated Savannah because she was dating would-be basketball star LeBron James. McDaniel advised that many girls may have thought, “Why couldn’t it be me?” when looking at LeBron and Savannah’s high school romance, which would ultimately lead to their first child, LeBron Jr., while Savannah was still in high school and LeBron was in his rookie NBA year. They welcomed son Bryce a few years later before walking down the aisle marriage on September 14th, 2013, and welcomed daughter Zhuri Nova the following year.
McDaniel encouraged teenage girls not to fight in school, while Savannah maintained that her fighting days were long gone. She now opts to call security.
