“Saved by the Bell” star Dustin Diamond has passed away after a short battle with stage four cancer. He was diagnosed earlier this year.
TMZ learned of Diamond’s passing from a representative Monday morning. According to the rep, his condition declined rapidly since last week. The actor was removed from breathing machines in an attempt to get him to hospice care. Sadly, he did not make it.
Diamond is best known for his role as Samuel “Screech” Powers on the hit sitcom “Saved by the Bell,” which ran for four seasons between August 1989 and May 1993. A reboot of the sitcom premiered in 2020 on Peacock, though Diamond was not a part of it.
The 44-year-old’s death comes just weeks after he completed his first round of chemotherapy after his diagnosis. He was diagnosed during hospitalization in January.
Diamond also appeared on several reality shows, including “Celebrity Boxing 2” and “Celebrity Fit Club.”
