Saweetie Responds To A Fan Who Suggested That She Becomes A Model

Saweetie confirms that she is not changing her career any time soon.

On Friday, a fan expressed a desire for Saweetie to pursue modeling in response to her new single “Richtivities.” In a retweet of the fan’s comment, the Cali-born artist shared a snippet from her previous “Immortal Freestyle” where she addresses such wishes by rapping, “I know some of you wish I’d pursue modeling, but damn.” When another fan suggested she should pursue modeling due to her beauty, she responded with an adamant “no.”

Although dedicated to her music career, the 30-year-old rapper has garnered significant acclaim for her fashion sense. In a notable achievement last year, she was recognized at the Grammy Museum for her contributions to Hip Hop aesthetics, particularly for her distinctive nail art, which was honored by the institution.

“The use of bespoke jewelry, nail piercings, and bamboo hoops have long been a foundation of fashion and hip hop style. But the creative collaboration of celebrity nail artist Temeka Jackson and Bay Area rapper Saweetie has taken nails to stunning new heights,” the exhibit;s write up read.

In October 2023, Saweetie posted a video featuring herself and nail artist Temeka Jackson proudly showcasing their own exhibit at the Los Angeles venue.

“my nails made it to the Grammy museum !!!!” she captioned the Instagram video. “We did that @customtnails1 & thank you @recordingacademy for having us a part of Hip-Hop history IKDR !!!!!!”
