Scarface Issues Statement Regarding Child Support Arrest

Scarface was arrested on Friday, October 9 for unpaid child support. The arrest happened shortly after the hip hop legend was honored by his peers during a taping of the BET Hip Hop Awards.  Scarface, real name Brad Jordan, was released from jail on Friday, October 16th.

It was previously reported that Scarface was not to leave the state of Texas after a warrant was issued for his arrest for failing to pay  $482,190 in support over the past 10 years. Other reports say he would have been arrested sooner had authorities been able to locate him. A private investigator was able to track him down.

In a statement,  Scarface addressed his fans and rumors surrounding his arrest. 

“First and foremost I would like to thank my supporters for their concern during my recent arrest in Atlanta,” said Scarface. ” While we have resolved the issue I would like to correct some misinformation.  The amount reported that was owed is inaccurate and I had no knowledge about there being an arrest order for me as I have traveled to Atlanta many times; with the latest trip being in September to perform at the One Music Festival.  Due to the nature of the case (having a minor child involved), I will make no further comment at this time.”
