A Few Bad Apples; School Prank Turns Chaotic When Teens Trash Entire 300,000 Square Foot Campus

High school students in Texas took their senior prank too far, causing thousands of dollars in damages.

The chaos took place Wednesday night at Frisco Memorial High School when a small group of students carried out the annual senior prank. The original joke was approved by the school and involved students placing Post-In notes throughout the campus. Staff members were on-site to supervise the event, which was meant to be a joyous occasion celebrating the end of student’s high school career. Instead, things took a turn when several students began setting off fire alarms, spraying fire extinguishers all over the school, damaging furniture, and throwing paint on the walls. The employees who were present tried to get the situation under control, but once the rowdy vandalism persisted, they called the police and fire department. Luckily, no one was injured. No arrests have been reported.

Videos that surfaced on social media showed the school’s cafeteria completely trashed, with white fire extinguisher fog filling the space. According to school administrators, “every surface on the 300,000 square foot campus must be cleaned.” They have also stated that the students involved in destroying the school will have to pay for damages and possibly face criminal charges.

The damages were so extensive that the final two days of the school year, Thursday and Friday, were canceled. The decision was bittersweet for many seniors, who were looking forward to saying farewell to their favorite teachers before embarking on their post-grad journeys.

“It’s the whole class that had it ruined just because of a few kids that decided to vandalize the school,” said senior Abhi Bandi.

Clean-up crews arrived on Thursday to begin repairing the school, which is expected to take several weeks.
