The Last Dance was one of the most talked about projects during its release in April 2020 at the height of the pandemic. The narrative and images presented in the full documentary were criticized by multiple former teammates, who claimed that it was told primarily from Michael Jordan‘s perspective. However, three of his former teammates, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, and Luc Longley, are now planning to tell their own versions of the story in a tell-all tour that kicks off in Australia on Friday.
Scottie Pippen has had a gripe with Michael Jordan ever since the documentary aired, where he felt like his mentality and commitment were often questioned. Pippen also fully addressed his issue in his biography ‘Unguarded.’
“They glorified Michael Jordan while not giving nearly enough praise to me and my proud teammates. Michael deserved a large portion of the blame. The producers had granted him editorial control of the final product. The doc couldn’t have been released otherwise. He was the leading man and the director.”
The tour begins in Tasmania on Friday before they make their way to Melbourne and then Sydney. It will be interesting to hear the stories this trio shares, especially those we haven’t heard before.
