Sean Diddy Combs prison release date just shifted, and the timeline is moving faster than expected. Federal Bureau of Prisons records now show the 56 year old mogul is set to be released on April 25, 2028. That is about six weeks earlier than his previous projected date of June 4, 2028.
Sean Diddy Combs prison release date is now April 25, 2028.
The change comes while Combs continues to appeal his four year sentence. He was sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months in federal prison. The judge also ordered him to pay a 500,000 dollar fine and complete five years of supervised release once he returns home.
Combs had already spent a year behind bars after his September 2024 arrest at a Manhattan hotel. That time counted toward his total sentence. So from the start, the clock was already ticking.
The earlier release date appears tied to his participation in the Residential Drug Abuse Program, also known as RDAP. In November 2025, it was confirmed that he had been accepted into the program, which can reduce time for eligible inmates who complete it successfully.
A representative for Combs previously stated that he is actively participating in RDAP and taking the rehabilitation process seriously. According to that statement, he has remained focused on personal growth and committed to positive change.
Still, the legal fight is not over.
Combs is pushing forward with his appeal, aiming to challenge aspects of his conviction and sentence. While the appeal works its way through the courts, the Bureau of Prisons calculates release dates based on time served, good conduct credit, and program participation.
So even as court proceedings continue, the calendar keeps adjusting.
For some, the earlier date signals that the system’s mechanics are playing out as designed. For others, it is another chapter in a case that reshaped the legacy of one of hip hop’s most powerful figures.
Either way, the date changed.
And April 2028 is now the number to watch.
