Sean Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, is back home in Florida after spending four days in jail. She was arrested during a raid at Sean’s house last Thursday by the Broward County Sheriff’s Department. Turner was taken into custody on a warrant for fraud and theft, facing eight charges, including conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, and identity theft.
Turner, 61, posted a $160,000 bond on Friday and was released from the Broward County jail on Sunday around 5:54 PM. Her charges stem from accusations of a large-scale fraud scheme, with court records detailing thefts amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Meanwhile, her son, Sean Kingston, was also arrested on the same warrant just hours later but on the opposite coast. He was performing in Fort Irwin, CA, when authorities apprehended him. Kingston has been held in San Bernardino County jail over the weekend and will face an extradition hearing on Tuesday to be sent back to Florida.
Authorities allege that over six months, Turner and Kingston stole nearly $500K in jewelry, over $200K from Bank of America, $160K from a car dealer, $100K from First Republic Bank, and even $86K for a custom bed.
