A security manager for the Seattle Seahawks has been fired over child pornography charges.
According to Complex, Aaron Miyasato, 41, was arrested and charged on Tuesday with distributing and possessing child porn, the Seattle-Intelligencer reports. The man worked for the NFL team and also operated a photography business. His arrest comes after SWAT performed a search warrant at his Renton, Washington home; he’s now being held on a $50,000 bail. Authorities initiated an investigation into Miyasato back in December 2020.
In a statement sent to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Seahawks said Miyasato is no longer with the organization. “We are aware of the situation, and in accordance with the NFL personal conduct policy, we have notified the league of his arrest,” the statement read. “This individual is no longer employed by our organization.”
During their search, authorities obtained 25,000 child pornography photos from Miyasato’s home. Miyasato also had graphic videos of children sexually exploiting themselves, according to the charges filed against him on Wednesday in King County.
“These charges are the first Internet crimes against children case filed this year by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and it follows an unusually high number of cases filed in 2020,” Casey McNerthney, a spokesman for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, said of Miyasato’s charges.
