Chris Brown may not have been the only one involved in the 2023 bottle-smashing incident at London’s Tape nightclub. A second man has now been charged in connection with the alleged attack.
Rapper HoodyBaby, born Omololu Akinlolu, faces a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent, according to a statement from London’s Metropolitan Police. He is scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday. As previously reported, Brown faces the same charge and appeared in court Friday. A judge ordered that he remain in police custody until his next hearing at London’s Southwark Crown Court on June 13th.
Brown’s arrest comes at an inconvenient time, as he’s set to launch his “Breezy Bowl XX” tour in the Netherlands on June 8th. So far, there’s no official word on whether the tour will be postponed, though that could be the case.
The allegations stem from a violent altercation in 2023, in which the “Under the Influence” singer is accused of striking music producer Abe Diaw over the head with a bottle of Don Julio 1942. Diaw later filed a lawsuit against Brown, claiming he was “beaten” unconscious, suffered severe injuries, and required hospitalization.
