Actress Estelle Harris passes away at 93-years-old of natural causes.
Estelle, unfortunately, left us on Saturday evening in Palm Desert, California, just weeks before her 94th birthday. The actress’s son, Glen Harris, gave some kind words to Deadline about his mother.
“It is with the greatest remorse and sadness to announce that Estelle Harris has passed on this evening at 6:25 pm,” Glen said. “Her kindness, passion, sensitivity, humor, empathy and love were practically unrivaled. And she will be terribly missed by all those who knew her.”
The actress was born on April 4, 1928, in Manhattan to a Polish-Jewish family. Estelle’s acting career began while she was working in a dinner theater. She later ascended to supporting roles in films and television around the mid-1980s.
Estelle was well-known in Hollywood for her distinct high-pitched voice. She is best remembered for her role as George Costanza’s judgmental mother on “Seinfeld.” Estelle starred on the sitcom for 27 episodes between 1992 and 1998.
