Serena Williams, the tennis icon and global superstar, recently shared an experience on Twitter. While staying at the prestigious Peninsula Paris, Serena was denied access to the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, an experience she described as a first, especially when it involved her children.
In her tweet, Serena expressed her frustration:
“Yikes @peninsulaparis I’ve been denied access to rooftop to eat in a empty restaurant of nicer places but never with my kids. Always a first. #Olympic2024”
The hotel quickly responded with a heartfelt apology:
“Dear Mrs. Williams,
Please accept our deepest apologies for the disappointment you encountered tonight. Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved. We have always been honored to welcome you and will always be to welcome you again.
The Peninsula Paris”
The Peninsula Paris acknowledged the situation, explaining that the rooftop bar was fully booked, and the empty tables Serena saw were reserved for their gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc. The hotel expressed their regret for the misunderstanding and reiterated their honor in welcoming Serena in the past and in the future.
